DC lovers were in for a treat on Monday, June 24, as the first set of photos of David Corenswet’s Superman were leaked online. The unbridled excitement surrounding director James Gunn’s upcoming film, previously titled Superman: Legacy, has already reached its peak. Now with the unofficial release of the superhero character’s pictures, fans can’t keep calm. Fans were finally able to get a glimpse of David Corenswet’s full Superman costume. The 30-year-old was seen shooting for the much-awaited movie in Cleaveland, Ohio. The photographs have also offered a sneak peek of actor Edi Gathegi in his Mister Terrific superhero character.

The pictures capture David Corenswet as Clark Kent donning the iconic blue and red Superman costume. According to Screen Rant, it was a much brighter shade than the first official peek posted by the social media handles of DC. Corenswet looked beefed-up, seemingly ready to start filming. Unlike the previous suits, this one will have the letter “S” emblazoned on the cape, as seen in the photographs. Edi Gathegi also made an appearance in one of the clicks, standing beside Corenswet. He wore a black, white, and red-hued superhero costume with the words “Fair Play” written on the sleeves, staying true to the comic book look of Mister Terrific.

DC fans were quick to react to the pictures going viral on X (formerly Twitter).

“Dare I say best live-action Superman suit. I was iffy about the first reveal but this is just perfect. I love you James Gunn,” complimented one individual.

“He looks perfect, loving the colours,” agreed another.

“That cape is chef’s kiss,” a few declared.

An eager Superman admirer commented, “Now I’m REALLY excited for Superman! I was excited before, but I’m truly ecstatic.”

Before that, DC dropped a series of set pictures on X offering a glimpse of a destroyed Metropolis region presumably meant for a sequence in Superman. James Gunn was seen directing the workers before the shoot. David Corenswet on the other hand was spotted wearing a black cloak seemingly to hide his now-viral Superman suit.

Superman also stars Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult in important roles. The superhero flick is set to premiere on the big screens on July 11, 2025.
