Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was recently held as an under-trial prisoner in the Renuka Swamy murder case. Fans offered a special pooja for the actor’s release at Veereshwara Punyaashrama in Gadag. Darshan’s photo and film poster were placed by the fans and worshipped. Pandit Puttaraj worshipped the Gauge of Kavi Gawai and Panchakshara Gawai.
The fans spoke after performing the puja and said that their actor should be released as soon as possible. The people present there said that they are Darshan’s true fans. They further said that he should be released soon with the blessings of Pandit Puttaraj. He should be punished if he has done wrong, as no one is greater than the law. The fans further added that Renukaswamy’s soul may rest in peace. They will pray to God to give strength to his family.
It is said that the actor has been facing considerable difficulties adjusting to life in Parappana Agrahara Jail. In the past few days, he has suffered from persistent diarrhoea, primarily due to the poor quality of the jail food. It resulted in a noticeable weight loss of 10 kilograms for the actor.
The actor has reportedly turned to yoga to address his deteriorating health conditions. According to the reports, he spends most of his time alone and maintains distance from his other inmates. It is also said that he has obtained books from the jail library to occupy his time. Actor Darshan seems to be afraid of the Renukaswamy murder case. Actor Darshan is spending his days worrying about what turn the case will take. Many people also visit him in prison.
For the unversed, the actor was detained on June 11 in Mysuru in the murder case of Renukaswamy. Darshan, his partner Pavithra Gowda and eleven others have been arrested in the case. It is said that Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, has been sending a series of lewd and defamatory texts to Pavithra. The police sources said that he held Pavithra responsible for Darshan’s separation from his wife Vjayalakshmi and said that she should stay away from him or face consequences.
He was later, on June 8, found murdered, with his body dumped in a drain in Kamakshipalya in Bengaluru. The police said that he was kidnapped from Chitradurga, kept captive in a farmhouse in Rajarajeshwarinagar and tortured. And further, he died due to his injuries.
