Hyderabad: People’s trouble has increased Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Officer, State Lightning Board has cut power to Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket (RGIC) Stadium Uppal There is an outstanding of more than Rs.
This is a classic case of negligence of the officials which has resulted in a shameful situation.
On November 29, the electricity department issued notices to HCA officials asking them to clear the outstanding amount of more than Rs 3 crore within seven days. Due to non-payment, the electricity officials cut off the supply of the stadium.
The actual outstanding amount was Rs 1,41,18,269 and the total pending amount was Rs 3,05,12,790 (Rupees three crore five lakh twelve thousand seven hundred ninety nine) with a surcharge of Rs 1,63,94,521.
In 2015, officials of the electricity department had found that electricity was being drawn fraudulently by HCAs. The department then served notice to the cricket board and demanded payment within seven days. The then officials led by President Mohamed Arshad Ayub went to court and the proceedings were stayed and power was restored.
However, thereafter the HCA officials did not bother to pursue the matter and take it to its logical end. The Court of Additional District Judge, Ranga Reddy District disposed of the matter on June 13, 2018 by stating that the case was ‘dead for default’.
“No one from HCA took any interest in the matter and no lawyer appeared on behalf of the association and hence the matter was dismissed,” the sources said.
“Since the administration has almost come to a standstill due to infighting and suspension of the members of the Apex Council, there is no one to look after all these matters,” sources said.
