Dangerous step taken in domestic dispute: Eccentric husband reached in-laws’ house with dynamite in Aravalli, Gujarat; Blast as soon as he hugged his wife, both died

The husband died in the hospital shortly after the blast.

In Gujarat’s Meghraj BT Chapra village of Aravalli district, a husband blew himself a leaf by blasting it with dynamite. The husband had reached the in-laws’ house by wrapping the detonator (gelatin cap). He hugged his wife and during this it exploded. The wife died on the spot, while the husband died in the hospital.

There was a rift between husband and wife for many years.

According to the information, Shardaben of BT Chapra village was married about 21 years ago with Lalabhai, a resident of Dera Dungri village of Muloz. They also have a 20 year old son. A few days ago, Shardaben had come to her maternal home. When Lalabhai reached the village on Thursday night, the people of the family thought that he had come to pick up his wife, but he had reached the body with a detonator. He went to his room and hugged his wife, when there was an explosion. The incident caused a stir in the entire area.

The reason for the dispute between husband and wife is not clear
Family members told that for two-three years there used to be fights between the two over something. The family says that they do not know the reason for the quarrel. Even the son does not know what was the dispute between the parents. However, given the dangerous nature of the murder, the police suspect that it could be due to illicit relations.
