Jaipur: A Dalit man was allegedly lynched by a group of men Rajasthan Rajasthan‘s Hanumangarh district The police gave this information on Saturday regarding his love affair. He said that three people have been taken into custody in this connection.
Taking strong cognizance of the incident, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawati Attacked the Congress-led state government for being “silent” on the matter.
“Rahul ji, don’t worry about Lakhimpur which is ruled by Yogi ji and not your dear Gehlot ji. Show some courage to speak out about the killing of Dalit youth. Prempura of Rajasthan so that people know how true you are?” He said in a tweet in Hindi.
The incident took place on October 7 in Prempura area of Hanumangarh where the accused beat Jagdish till he died. The culprits also made a video of the entire incident, in which they are seen giving water to the victim and then repeatedly beating her with sticks.
Police said the accused later dumped Jagdish’s body outside his residence.
Meanwhile, members of the victim’s family refused to accept the body, demanding early arrest of the accused and adequate compensation.
According to the police, the incident happened due to a love affair of a Dalit youth.
“A case has been registered against 11 people. Three people – Mukesh, Om Prakash and Hansraj – have been detained and two teams have been formed to nab the remaining accused,” Pilibanga SHO Inder Kumar said.
SDM Ranjit Kumar met the family members of the victim on Saturday and persuaded them to perform the last rites of the body.
