Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson prefer to keep their relationship private.
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have been one of the most charming couples in Hollywood. But, rumours suggested that they had split. It started after Dakota was seen without her engagement ring earlier this month. However, just days later, a source close to the couple confirmed that they were still together. To put the rumours to rest, the Fifty Shades of Grey star recently stepped out with friends, where she proudly flaunted her emerald engagement ring. Now, it’s clear that the actress and Coldplay’s lead singer are going strong.
According to People, Dakota was spotted in Malibu, US, with actors Jeremy Allen White and Blake Lee. During the outing, she wore an oversized coat and jeans, along with her large emerald engagement ring on her left hand. Dakota and Chris, who likes to keep their relationship private, were first rumoured to have been engaged in December 2020, but it was not officially confirmed until March 2024. Earlier, commenting on their split rumours, an insider close to Dakota had said, “They are happily together.”
Talking about the gorgeous ring, Zack Stone, the managing director of Steven Stone, told Criss Cutt Magazine, “Featuring an 8-10 carat oval cut emerald, Dakota’s ring is certainly impressive. The stone of the heart, emeralds symbolise mercy, compassion and universal love – making them the ideal choice for an engagement ring. Though it’s dependent on the quality of the stone, Dakota’s ring could easily be worth $500,000 (approximately Rs 4 Crore).”
Although the couple keep their relationship private, Chris once talked about how Dakota helped people with hearing aids during Coldplay’s concerts. In an interview on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast in March 2023, the singer said, “Dakota, my partner, gave me one as a gift because she saw someone online experiencing whatever they are experiencing with this. It’s kind of like body armour that you put on. It connects to the bass. So we started using it and it’s been so amazing and it should get better and better. We have 10 or 20 now of those packs. So if you’re hearing impaired, we have an area where you put on the pack and you can feel the show.”
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson’s relationships began back in 2017. Before dating the Madame Web actress, the Coldplay singer was married to Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he has two children, Apple and Moses.
