Supreme Court’s Week-Long Lok Adalats
Chief Justice Chandrachud shared his experience today, saying, “Throughout this week, the Supreme Court is organizing Lok Adalats with 7 benches. Our experience today has been that it was a resounding success. The Lok Adalat benefits from the cooperation of the Bar, Supreme Court judges, as well as extensive groundwork done by High Courts, state governments, and insurance companies. The objective is to resolve minor cases. People are often unaware of how minor cases come to the Supreme Court, which is why we have selected cases such as service disputes, labour disputes, land acquisition cases, motor accident claims, and cheque dishonour cases.”
