Welcome to The Times of Israel Daily Briefing, your 15-minute audio update on what’s happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world, from Sunday to Thursday.
US correspondent Jacob Magid joins host Jessica Steinberg on TODAY podcast.
Jessica Steinberg talks about the end of Sukkot in Israel and the local observance of shmita, the seventh-year rest of the land that began on Rosh Hashanah.
Magid then discusses Thursday’s vote in the US House, which passed the Iron Dome Supplemental Appropriations Act 420-9 after the Dem Squad voted on Tuesday.
Magid was not surprised by the final vote, remarking that support for Israel in the US government was still high.
He also talks about Bennett’s speeches to Prime Minister Naftali, scheduled for today in New York, with the United Nations General Assembly and Jewish Associations of North America.
Magid spoke with Erik Fingerhut, CEO of Jewish Federations, ahead of Monday’s meeting.
