CWC meeting: Congress chief election from August 21 to September 20 next year; passed three resolutions

The Congress on Saturday passed three resolutions on the ongoing political situation in the country, agrarian crisis and price rise. Addressing a press briefing after the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, party general secretary KC Venugopal said that the election of the Congress President will be held between August 21 and September 20, 2022.

CWC meeting was held today to discuss important agenda, organizational elections and upcoming state assembly elections.

Stating that the CWC was “troubled” about the current political situation in the country, Venugopal said, “After about 18 months, a physical meeting of the CWC has been held. Discussion on the current political situation, upcoming elections and internal elections of the Congress party. Three resolutions have been discussed. Political, agricultural and price hike issues have been passed.”

We are going for massive training program from top to bottom. Workers and leaders at all levels will be trained in countering the party’s ideologies, policies, expectations of a Congress worker, grassroots message, election mgmt, failure of the present government and propaganda.

Venugopal further said that there will be a comprehensive training program for Congress workers, who will be trained on how to eliminate “propaganda”.

“From November 14-29, a massive ‘Jan Jagran’ program will be launched where workers will reach out to many people and tell them about the current state of the economy and its poor management,” he said.

The CWC has discussed the organizational elections in detail and the nomination campaign for the same will start from November 1 and end on March 31. “A preliminary list will be announced for the candidates from April 1 to April 15, 2022. From July 21, 2022 to August 21, 2022, the President, Vice President and PCC Executive will be elected. The election of AICC President will be held from 21 August 2022 to 20 September 2022.
