CUET Candidates Urge LG to Facilitate CUET Exam Centres in J&K Instead of Punjab

Sinha had raised the issue of lack of CUET exam centers in Jammu and Kashmir with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday, following which the exam for local candidates was postponed.

Candidates appearing for the CUET-UG from Ramban district on Monday demanded Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s intervention in allotting examination centers closer to the Union Territory and not Punjab.

Sinha had on Friday raised the issue of lack of CUET exam centers in Jammu and Kashmir with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, after which the exam for local candidates was postponed.

Many candidates from Ramban region have received admit cards, which show their exam center in Jalandhar, Punjab, around 300 km away.

A candidate said, “Many candidates from Ramban district have received admit cards with exam centers in Jalandhar or any other city outside Kashmir.”

Many candidates have stated that they are financially very hard-pressed to travel outside the Union Territory and have appealed to the LG and exam authorities to change the exam venue to somewhere nearer to their location.
