Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony postponed

March 13, 2022, will be an important day for the members of the entertainment industry as the Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony will be held on a special date. Interestingly, the BAFTA Awards will also be announced on the same day. The Critics’ Choice Association made the announcement on Thursday night, reports Variety.

Ty Diggs and Nicole Byer will host the 27th edition of the ceremony at an in-person event in Century City, California.

“Following the science and tracking the course of the Omicron edition, we believe that March 13 will be the perfect day to honor the great achievements in film and television over the past year,” said organization CEO Joy Berlin.

He added, “We could have gone ahead with our original date with limited attendance or switched to virtual awards shows like we did last year, but we decided to wait until we could safely go in person.” Get together and celebrate with a truly creative community, industry leaders, and our CCA members all together in a beautiful setting for the whole world to see.”

For the unsuspecting, the gala was scheduled to take place on January 9, but was then postponed due to the COVID surge.
