‘Criticism but with respect’: John Cocaine on Valimai review of Blue Sattai Maran

Telugu and Tamil actor John Koken has written an open letter to YouTuber and Indian film critic Blue Sattai Maran for his highly critical and allegedly biased review of Valimai.

In his letter, John said that Blue Sattai Maran is a renowned film critic, whereas he is just an actor. John said that he played a small role in the film Sarpatta Parambrai and requested Blue Sattai Maran to review it.

Released in 2021, Sarpatta Parambrai Pa. was a Tamil historical sports action film directed by Ranjith, who co-produced the film in association with Shanmugam Dhakashanraj of K9 Studios under the banner of Neelam Productions.

John Cocaine noted in the letter that criticism helps cinema grow, so critics are respected. Most of the people in the industry are hardworking and committed to their work. The industry is full of great directors, actors and superstars.

John further said in the letter, that it takes a lot of blood and sweat to be called a superstar in the industry, and requested him to be humble while criticizing someone.
