Crisis in Punjab: Sidhu’s appointment as Congress President didn’t stop his uproar over Captain Amarinder

All looks good, but the scars left by the fierce battle for supremacy in the Punjab Congress can be overlooked.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh may have struck a deal with his staunch Navjot Sidhu, but the fragility of peace is unacceptable.

Since his elevation as PCC chief, Navjot Singh Sidhu has been holding public meetings, calling leaders, making announcements. But what is being noticed by observers is his repeated and subtle jibes at the Captain Amarinder government. He termed him as anti-people for the government’s power purchase policies, launched a scathing attack on Captain Amarinder for not fixing the responsibility for the Kotkapura firing incident.

Also, Sidhu has hit out at his own government for failing to curb the drug menace, saying a ‘mafia raj’ was rampant. The leaders are also negligent in the employment of their own government.

The main opposition parties are watching the developments with glee, claiming they no longer need to monitor the government as the ruling party’s own president is doing so.

Leader of Opposition, Harpal Cheema took a dig at Sidhu, saying: “What is stopping him from taking action against all the allegations that he is making. His party is in power instead of directing his government to take action on all wrongdoings which he is alleging that he should take action.”

Cheema said that the Congress party led by him, which is also the ruling party, should stop fooling the people of the state and fulfill the unfulfilled promises. “Since he is already playing the role of the opposition, to point out the flaws of his own government, the people of the state should note that now his own people from the ruling party are publicly admitting that he can do anything constructive. can not do. The last four and a half years,” Cheema said.
