Police said that a case of murder has been registered.

A Class 12 student was allegedly stabbed to death outside his school following a brawl between two groups of students in southeast Delhi’s Okhla, police said on Tuesday.

He said Mohan, 18, a resident of JJ Camp in Okhla Phase II, was a student of Kalkaji School.

The victim’s family said the teenager had gone to school to appear for a physical education exam and while leaving the school, a group of boys caught hold of her and started thrashing her, during which one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed her in the chest.

The police suspect that the quarrel took place over the teenager talking to a girl.

There was a fight between two groups of students near Hansraj Sethi Park, during which the boy was allegedly stabbed in the chest. According to the police, he was admitted to Poornima Sethi Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said that a case of murder has been registered.

Police said CCTV footage from the area has been examined and local probe is on to identify and trace the culprits.

Meanwhile, Mohan’s family members said that his sister was to get married in the first week of February and the entire family was busy preparing for it.

The victim’s mother Geeta said, ‘My son had gone to school but he did not return. My daughter’s marriage is to be on 6th February.

“Instead of attending the wedding celebrations, we are now preparing for my son’s last rites. he is no more. I want justice for my son. Those who killed him should not be spared and should be punished.” Narrating the sequence of events, the victim’s brother Gautam said that he had gone to a showroom to book a television, but suddenly received a call from his father who Told me to reach the hospital as soon as Mohan was stabbed.

“When I reached the hospital, I saw my father crying bitterly. My brother left home for school at around 8 in the morning to appear for his physical education examination. When he came out of the school premises after giving the paper, he was caught by a group of students already gathered outside the school. They started fighting with him and when he tried to escape, they also stabbed him on the chest.” The deceased is survived by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
