MANGALURU: 604 candidates have registered for the one month long workshop for candidates aspiring to join the police force.

Among those who appeared, 218 were for Police Sub Inspector selection and 386 were willing to join as Police Constable. Out of the total candidates, 566 are from dakshina knanda and are from 38 Udupi, Chikkamagaluru and Uttara Kannada.
Of the total 481 males and 123 females who appeared, 372 are graduates. The city police has decided to conduct the training in two batches of 100 students each. Apart from 100 students residing in the hostel, about 100 days students will also be accommodated.
Although the commissionerate was formed almost a decade ago, yet, during the recruitment process, less than 10% of the candidates were selected from Dakshina Kannada in the district or city police force.
