Cow, dung, urine can strengthen economy, says MP CM Shivraj

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday said that cow dung and urine along with its cow dung can strengthen the economy of a person and make the country financially capable.

Speaking at ‘Shakti 2021’, a conference of women veterinarians organized by the Veterinary Association of India, she said, the government has developed cow sanctuaries and shelters, but it will not work alone and requires the participation of the society.

He said, “If we want, we can strengthen our economy and make the country financially capable through the use of cows, their dung and urine. The crematoriums of MP are dedicated to reducing the use of gaukastha (cow) wood. logs made of cow dung).

He said that veterinarians and experts should engage in result oriented work on how cow rearing can become a profitable business for small farmers and livestock farmers.

Addressing the program, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Purushottam Rupala said that a large number of women in rural areas of Gujarat are involved in cow rearing and as a result the dairy business has been successful. Rupala urged the Center to help women veterinary graduates who choose entrepreneurship in this field.
