Covid vaccination rate slow in Telangana: Uttam Kumar Reddy | Hyderabad News – Times of India

Hyderabad: Nalgonda MP and Telangana Congress not a former president Uttam Kumar Reddy Said on Saturday that the Covid-19 vaccination rate was slow in the state, especially in rural areas.
In view of the possible third wave of corona virus, there is a need to accelerate the vaccination exercise. Also, with the rate at which Telangana is being vaccinated, it will be difficult to achieve the target of immunization for all adults by December 31.
He said that he would raise the issue in the House ParliamentUttam, who attended the meeting of the general body Nalgonda Circle Praja Parishad told reporters that only 10 per cent of the 65,000 population of Nalgonda mandal have been given two doses of the vaccine so far.
“The doctors of Nalgonda mandal have informed me that vaccine doses were not being supplied every day. Only 100 to 200 doses are being given. With such short supply and slow rate of vaccination, how will we be able to vaccinate all adults by December 31,” he asked?
Students from poor families in rural areas were unable to follow lessons online due to lack of infrastructure. “How will a poor Dalit family provide a laptop, iPad or smart phone to the child? The central and state governments did not take any steps to provide adequate infrastructure to the students in rural areas. The best solution is to vaccinate all students immediately and reopen schools.”
TRS government is the only government in the country which was not implementing crop insurance schemes. Farmers are not getting any compensation for crop losses caused by heavy rains, floods and other natural calamities. He said that the previous Congress governments had implemented crop insurance schemes effectively.
