The area did not report any Covid-19 deaths and the toll stood at 1,877. The Puducherry headquarters have reported the highest number of deaths at 1,465, followed by Karaikal (251), Yanam (109) and Mahe (52). The mortality rate of infection remained at 1.5%.
The region has recorded 1.29 lakh cases so far, out of which 1.27 lakh patients have registered a recovery rate of 98.4%.
Healthcare officials have so far tested 20.09 lakh swab samples for COVID-19 infection, of which 17.05 lakh samples came back negative.
They have so far administered more than 13 lakh doses (one dose to 7.93 lakh people and two doses to 5.07 lakh people) of Kovid-19 vaccine.
