New Delhi: India has recorded 1,272 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, while the active cases have come down to 15,515, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday. Active cases now comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections. The total number of Covid cases is 4.49 crore (4,49,80,674).
Data updated at 8 am said the death toll climbed to 5,31,770 with three new deaths, of which the death was reported from Punjab, one from West Bengal.
The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.78 per cent. While the number of people recovering from the disease increased to 4,44,33,389 and the death rate was recorded at 1.18 percent. According to the website of the ministry, 220.66 crore doses of Kovid vaccine have been given so far in the country under the nationwide vaccination campaign.
