COVID-19: Haryana CM asks health officials to ensure health infrastructure to deal with third wave. Chandigarh News – Times of India

CHANDIGARH: With the ongoing speculation of a third wave of the coronavirus pandemic, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar On Thursday, the health department officials were alerted to ensure ‘Covid-appropriate’ health infrastructure in the state.
The Chief Minister inquired about all the medical facilities related to COVID such as availability of ventilator beds, oxygen-equipped beds, ICU beds, oxygen cylinders and concentrators, injections — remdesivir, amphotericin, tocilizumab, so that there is no shortage. Equipment or medicine for the people of the state amid the Kovid-crisis.
The CM directed the officials to conduct a ‘gap analysis’ in the health department to strengthen the infrastructure and appoint adequate number of doctors, nurses and paramedics.
He asked the Health Department officials to sensitize the medical staff and ensure rationalization of the staff. He further asked them to increase the medical staff so that there is no shortage in the near future.
Further, he asked the concerned officials to conduct an exercise to check the current availability of ICU beds, ventilator beds and oxygen-equipped beds, essential medicines, neonatal ventilators and pediatric ventilators so as to bridge the gap in the existing health infrastructure. .
Sharing the concerns with respect to the Covid-pediatric cases, Khattar asked the Health Department officials to estimate the health infrastructure required to treat the Covid-pediatric cases and make necessary arrangements accordingly.
