“The weekly testing trends in this district are also showing a declining trend. This calls for more proactive action on the testing front,” he said.

Bhushan said that the state should ensure strict adherence to COVID-appropriate practices and focus on second dose vaccination coverage of all eligible beneficiaries.
He added that it has also been observed that there is a rapid increase in cases where the basic public health strategy of ‘testing, tracking, treating, covid-appropriate behavior and vaccination’ is not strictly followed.
“The current trend of rise in daily new cases and case positivity, if left unchecked, can lead to a situation where there is severe pressure on health infrastructure and health workers,” Bhushan said.
He said that regular review of COVID-19 cases and deaths should also be done and field teams should be informed about necessary corrective measures immediately.
“Finally, it should also be ensured that the district maintains consistency in data up-dation in the Covid-19 portal,” Bhushan said.
