COVID-19 India News Updates, With 23 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours, India recorded 17,070 new cases of the novel coronavirus. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Friday (July 1), there were a total of 14,413 discharges in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate to around 98.55 percent and the total recovery data reaching 4,28. ,36,906.
The total active cases of COVID-19 in India has risen to 1,07,189, health ministry data showed today. The active cases registered yesterday stood at 1,04,555.
Huge surge in active cases:
The active COVID-19 caseload has registered an increase of 2,634 cases in a 24-hour period. The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.24 per cent of the total infections.
According to the data, the active cases of Kovid on February 28 were 1,02,601. On March 1, it came down to 92,472.
The total death toll in the country now stands at 5,25,139. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic was reported in March 2020.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.40 per cent on July 1.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 86,28,77,639 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till June 30. Of these, 5,02,150 samples were tested on Thursday.
Maharashtra COVID Tally:
Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Thursday reported 3,640 new cases of Covid-19 and three deaths, according to the data released by the state health department. The state’s coronavirus tally declined since Wednesday when the state recorded 3,957 COVID-19 cases and seven deaths.
In the last 24 hours, the state recorded 4,432 recoveries. The data shows that the number of active cases rose to 24,490.
Mumbai recorded 1,265 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, a decline of about 16 per cent over the previous day, while one more patient succumbed to the disease, the city’s civic body said. With these additions, the total COVID-19 tally in the city rose to 11,12,492, while the death toll rose to 19,610, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a bulletin.
