Course Work Must For Phd Students | Kanpur News – Times of India

KANPUR: The academic council of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University at its meeting on Monday took several important decisions. The meeting was chaired by vice-chancellor Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak. It was decided in meeting that the PhD course would also include compulsory course work for the students and that it has been made mandatory for the PhD students enrolled with the CSJM University to get two research papers published in UG Care and SCI journals.
It is now mandatory for the PhD students to do course work. New students, taking admission in PhD courses, in the new academic session will have to clear the PhD course work exam, said Prof Pathak.
It was also decided that those pursuing PhD would be given a fellowship of Rs 10,000 and the researchers (pursuing PhD) would be paid Rs 25,000 as stipend if they take classes in the colleges affiliated with the CSJM University. Academic council also decided that all students enrolled on CSJM University campus would be compulsorily taught digital humanities and analytics.
The students of all the courses would also be taught data science and artificial intelligence with the assistance of IIT Kanpur. TNN
