Couple thrashed, robbed near Rajkot. Rajkot News – Times of India

Rajkot: A couple was thrashed in their sleep late on Wednesday night and valuables worth two lakh rupees were also looted in Sanosara village near Kuwadwa in Rajkot district.
Four men with masked faces entered the field and beat up Veerji Bavaliya (46), who was sleeping in the courtyard, and his wife Kanta with sticks.
The couple was cultivating the farm owned by Jayanthi Thummar on a contractual basis.
A police officer said, “Veerji bravely resisted the attack and also caught two of the robbers, but when he targeted his son, he left them fearing that they would injure him.”
The robbers took away gold and silver jewelery besides Rs 1.47 lakh in cash.
The Kuvadwa police confirmed that they have taken three of the four robbers into custody while raids are on to arrest the fourth accused who is absconding.
