Bhopal. The country’s longest railway over bridge is being built in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, with a length of 35 km. Its construction will cost 1247 crores. It is being constructed on Katni and Bina rail section in Jabalpur division of West Central Railway. Through this overbridge, the guards trains of Bilaspur, Singrauli and Bina railway line will be removed only above Katni station.
The name of this overbridge has been given Katni Grade Separation. It is being built on the third line between Katni and Bina, which is completely Guards Corridor. Both the up and down tracks will pass through the overbridge and the movement of goods trains will be possible.
There will be a 16.08 km long rail over bridge on the up line and 18.01 km on the down line. This mega project will cost 1247 crores. Ircon company is making it. 673 pillars will be made for the overbridge. The project approved in 2016 is likely to be completed by December 2023.
