Broad revealed that he has never rewatched the hammering he received at the hands of the maverick southpaw during England’s game against India at the 2007 T20 WC, in which Yuvraj smashed Broad for six sixers in an over.

Former England pacer Stuart Broad reveals that he has never once watched former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh smashing him for the full monty of six sixers in an over, back in the year 2007.

Yuvraj scripted history with his swashbuckling effort of 36 runs off a single over during a crucial T20 2007 World Cup fixture against England at the Kingsmead Stadium in South Africa.

Reflecting on the bitter memory, Broad was able to jest about being hammered by the maverick southpaw in a scintillating fashion stating that he has never watched it back.

“I’ve never watched it back,” the former English quick said.

He also went on to add that he got lucky to get away with a potential no-ball in that over.

“But, I must admit, I got lucky to get away with a no-ball there as well. It could have been seven,” he joked.

“I’ve never seen that, no. Never watched it,” the 38-year-old asserted in a jovial manner.

“So, thank you for that opportunity 17 years on,” he added to the co-commentator who enquired if the seamer had caught the highlights of the watershed moment.

What is also remarkable about the India vs England game was the exchange of words between Andrew Flintoff and Yuvraj ahead of the over. The English all-rounder seemed to have ticked off the Indian legend, and Broad, unfortunately, ended up bearing the brunt of the tiff as Yuvraj took him to the cleaners in shocking fashion.

The southpaw whacked the pacer all over the park as his 16-ball-58-run knock powered India to a total of 218/4 in 20 overs, which India managed to defend by limiting England to 200 for the loss of 6 wickets during the chase to advance to the knockout phase of the tournament.

India went on to win the inaugural T20 World Cup and many fans would point to Yuvraj’s carnage against the English seamer as the turning point in the tournament as MS Dhoni and Co. went on to clinch the prize in stunning fashion against arch-rivals Pakistan in nail-biting fashion.
