Health officials in the country reported more than 200,000 daily confirmed COVID cases for the fourth day in a row. Announcing the new restrictions amid a huge spike in cases, the government has said, children aged six and above will have to wear face masks on public transport from Monday. Masks were previously made mandatory from the age of 11, but Paris is tightening the rules given the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.
