Coronavirus in Israel: Joint List MK Ofer Kasif tests positive

Joint List MK Ofer Kasif has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, a Knesset spokesperson announced on Monday. Kasif was last in Knesset on 4 August.

Vaccinated individuals who were in contact with Kasif need not enter quarantine, although it is recommended that they get tested 72 hours after coming into contact. Those in contact with Kasif are required to enter quarantine until instructions are received from the health ministry.

“I have been informed that I have tested positive for COVID-19,” Kasif tweeted soon after the announcement.

“I meet a lot of people in my job, and I urge every one of them to get tested as soon as possible — an early test and diagnosis can save lives.”

Kasif has received both doses of the corona virus vaccine.
