Coronavirus: Can people who are fully vaccinated develop longer COVID? | The Times of India

Vaccines significantly reduce the risk of infection. That being said, they do not completely protect you, and given the variants in circulation right now, there is a high risk that exists for someone who has just been partially vaccinated.

After full vaccination, when immunity is said to be at its peak, the risk of infection as well as the consequences are minimized. Vaccinations can protect you from a lot of side effects, from a low risk of hospitalization to serious illness. However, the risk of catching the infection is very high, it is possible to develop some symptoms and therefore, in theory, it is absolutely possible to develop COVID over a long period of time.

However, evidence-backed data do not exist to determine the risks and possibilities.

Despite this, scientists are hopeful that the COVID vaccine, like other vaccines, can do its job to reduce the duration of symptoms and the likelihood of long-term complications. How well it works is practically something we’ll only learn in the coming months.
