Thane: Maharashtra Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad A criminal case was registered against religious leader Kalicharan Maharaj on Wednesday for his “controversial” remarks. Mahatma Gandhi,
Awhad, along with several NCP workers from Thane city personally went to Naupada police station and lodged a complaint.
Awadh said, “The complaint is regarding” abusive words Use on Mahatma Gandhi, support terrorism and glorify Nathuram Godse. I cannot even describe the word he used for Gandhi. He is repeatedly using provocative statements which are objectionable.”
Awadh, however, avoided questions on Sanatan Dharma and the current dispute between the MVA and the Governor and said that he has come “here” to file a complaint against Kalicharan and nothing else.
A police officer from Naupada police station confirmed that a case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
