The ABVP has alleged that the book being taught to law students contains highly objectionable material against the Hindu community and the RSS.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that the author of the controversial book Dr. Farhat Khan was arrested from Pune in Maharashtra on Thursday. A book named ‘Group violence and criminal justice system’ has been kept in the library of Government Naveen Law College, Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has alleged that the book being taught to law students contains highly objectionable material against the Hindu community and the RSS.

“Controversial writer Farhat Khan was arrested in Pune while she was undergoing dialysis at a hospital there,” Mishra told reporters in Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal.

The minister, without elaborating, said that the authorities have also started probing complaints related to another book and if any objectionable material is found, it will also be linked to the same case.

On December 3, ABVP leader Lucky Adiwal (28), an LLM student of Indore-based college, filed a complaint against the author Khan, the book’s publisher Amar Law Publications, the institution’s principal Dr Enamur Rahman and Professor Mirza Mojiz Baig in the case.
