Construction major Salasar Techno secures Rs 143 crore order from Nepal Electricity Authority

Construction engineering major Salasar Techno Engineering has won an order worth Rs 143 from the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). This is the first engineering, procurement and construction order from a foreign country, the company said in an exchange filing.

According to the filing, the order from Salasar Techno includes procurement of material equipment, accessories, required installation, testing and commissioning of substations and distribution networks.

Shashank Agarwal of Salasar Techno Management said the NEA order has enabled the company to make its presence felt in the export market.

“This demonstrates the company’s strength in executing large orders, developing products with state-of-the-art research and development,” he added.

The latest order will strengthen its existing orderbook and margin. The order will be executed over the next 24 months. The project, procured from the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), will come up in Dang, Rukum East and Baitri districts of the neighboring country.

On the financial front, Agarwal expects better margins in the coming quarters. Meanwhile, shares of Salasar Techno are trading at Rs 52, up 5 per cent, during Wednesday’s session on the NSE.
