On June 19, Congress demonstrated in Delhi as a part of Satyagraha.

Congress will protest peacefully in all the assembly constituencies of the country today against the Agneepath scheme. Satyagraha will be held under the leadership of senior party leaders and district-city presidents. Under this, a walk will be taken out.

Party officials will submit a memorandum addressed to the President demanding the withdrawal of the decision. Tight security arrangements have been made from the administration’s side to ensure that the demonstration does not turn violent.

plan imposed without deliberation
Regarding the satyagraha, the Congress says that there will be a peaceful satyagraha till 1 pm on Monday in every assembly constituency at the national level against this plan imposed without deliberation. In this regard at a press conference in Delhi, he said that Congress stands with the youth and this decision should be withdrawn immediately.

Demonstrations after the announcement of the plan
There were protests in different parts of the country after the announcement of the Agneepath scheme on June 14. Under this scheme, there is a provision to recruit youths in the age group of 17 and a half to 21 years on contract basis for four years. After completing four years of service, 25% of them will be selected for regular service. The upper age limit of applicants has been increased to 23 years for the year 2022.
