BJP is unable to digest its defeat in assembly elections and is doing politics of revenge: Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata:

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed that since the Congress has miserably failed to fight the battle against the BJP, the people of India have put the onus of creating a new India by dismantling the “fascist” saffron party.

The TMC has earned the trust of people across the country after a resounding victory against the BJP in the state assembly elections held earlier this year, Ms Banerjee asserted in an article titled “Delhi R Daki (Call of Delhi) in the worship version of the party mouthpiece “Jago Bangla”.

“The BJP has failed to digest its defeat in the assembly elections and is pursuing the politics of vengeance. Right now, TMC has a new challenge before it – the call of Delhi. The people of this country want relief from anti-people policies and politics and fascism. forces defeat,” she said in the article.

After defeating the BJP in the assembly elections, Ms Banerjee visited Delhi in July and held talks with opposition leaders to explore ways to bring the coalition of anti-BJP parties together ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

He said, “The people of the country are now dreaming of a new India around TMC. TMC is getting calls from different states crossing the borders of Bengal. They want Bengal to lead the fight for New India. That’s why we are, he said. We have to answer the call of the people. We have to fulfill the wishes of the people and bring all the anti-BJP forces on one platform.

Veteran Congress leader and former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro recently joined Trinamool Congress. The party is also eyeing to oust the BJP from power in Tripura. Assembly elections in Goa and Tripura are to be held in 2022 and 2023.

Observing that he never considered keeping the Congress out of a united platform of anti-BJP forces, the TMC chief said such a platform should be based on policies.

“But the fact is that, in the recent past, the Congress has failed to put up a fight against the BJP. In the last two Lok Sabha elections, it was proved. If you can’t give a fight at the Centre, it breaks.” People’s trust, and BJP gets some more votes in the states, we cannot allow this to happen this time.

“We don’t want leadership of this alliance. But Congress has to understand and accept the reality otherwise there will be gap in the alliance. There should be no gap, no gap in making anti-BJP force. This time at all India level, Ms Banerjee said in the article.

However, hinting that the TMC is set to be the driving force to oust the BJP government at the Centre, he claimed that the TMC’s development model has defeated the saffron party’s juggernaut.

“The people of the country have faith in this (TMC) model. We have to present the most practical model which can fulfill the aspirations of the people of India. TMC will not take a step back in fulfilling the aspirations of the people,” she said. .

Referring to how her party had once emerged as the main opposition face against the CPI(M) rule in West Bengal, overtaking the Congress, Ms Banerjee said in the article that the TMC has become the “real opposition against the BJP” in recent times.

The article comes a week after TMC national general secretary and his nephew Abhishek Banerjee accused the Congress of “sitting idle” and indulging in chair politics and advised it to take to the streets to fight the BJP.

Relations between the Congress and the TMC had recently been strained when the latter’s mouthpiece claimed that party supremo Mamata Banerjee, and not Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, emerged as the face of the opposition against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Huh.
