Congress Working Committee president Jitu Patwari hit out at the BJP government and claimed that these incidents cannot be separated on religious lines.

Former CM Kamal Nath asked on Twitter where the state was heading and demanded strict punishment for the culprits.

Meanwhile, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang hit out at the Congress for “defaming the BJP government” by highlighting such incidents, while the ruling party has acted swiftly in every incident. “How do Congress leaders have quick access to these videos and their IT cell disseminates them widely,” he asked.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday announced that the houses of five criminals involved in the Neemuch incident were demolished and several others arrested.

An incident was reported in Ujjain where a Muslim scrap dealer was thrashed by a group of locals and forced to chant Hindu religious slogans. On Saturday evening, the victim Abdul Rashid was beaten up and warned not to enter the village again.

The police later arrested Ishwar Singh and Kamal Singh Sondhia and produced them in the court. A video of the incident had gone viral.

Arshad Kamal was beaten up by local people with sticks and belts in Rewa district on suspicion of battery theft. He was seriously injured. In a video that is going viral, he can be seen thrashed on the ground and the attackers are attacking him.

The accused Kuldeep, Danish, Anuj and Neelkanth have been arrested.
