Patna: LJP MP from Hajipur and newly elected president of the party, Pashupati Kumar ParasHas reiterated its demand to give Bharat Ratna to former Union Minister and his brother late Ram Vilas Paswan.
Speaking on the occasion of Paswan’s birth anniversary at the LJP office on Monday, Paras said that Paras always focused on the upliftment of Dalits. “Senior Paswan served as a Union Minister under the leadership of six Prime Ministers. He was elected twice with a record margin, which shows his popularity.”
Paras further said, ‘Keeping in mind the contribution of the late leader, I urge the PM Narendra Modi To give him the Bharat Ratna.”
Replying to a question, the newly elected National President of LJP claimed that he had received a call from the Union Home Minister. Amit Shah On the occasion of Paswan’s birth anniversary. When asked about the reason, he replied, “Raj ko raj rahane diye (keep it a secret).”
On this occasion, the LJP office near Patna airport was decorated with colorful lights. There were huge posters and banners on the roads leading to the party headquarters. “We had also arranged a feast for the party men,” Paras said, adding that he would not stop his nephew Chirag Paswan from coming to the LJP office if he wanted to.
