At the conclusion of these programs, each state will submit a report to the office of the party’s national president
After Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the 2024 Union Budget on Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has put a plan in place to ensure that the budget’s impact, especially on the common man, reaches every individual and household.
“This budget is dedicated to the welfare of the deprived, the poor, the farming community, SCs and STs, and other underprivileged sections, employment oriented, encouraging to MSMEs, and inclusive growth towards realising the goal of Viksit Bharat,” the BJP stated in an official communication to its leaders.
Setting a deadline of one week for its party leaders, the BJP has asked all its office bearers, union ministers, chief ministers, and other national and state leaders to conduct effective press conferences to spread the message about the positive impact of this budget.
Additionally, leaders have been advised to hold meetings with intellectuals, economists, and other prominent citizens through discussion and dialogue on what this budget means for brand India.
Publicise budget’s announcements on social media
Apart from this, the party has requested all its leaders to publicise the budget’s announcements on social media using infographics and technology.
The responsibility for organising various programs to publicise the budget will be assigned to a state office bearer, who will coordinate with leaders at both state and national levels.
At the conclusion of these programs, each state will submit a report to the office of the party’s national president.
On Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the first full budget of the Modi 3.0 government. Sitharaman also made history by becoming the first finance minister in the country to present seven budgets during her tenure. Previously, Morarji Desai held the record with six budget presentations.
She made several announcements focusing on job creation and infrastructure in her budget presentation. The significant highlights included announcements for Andhra Pradesh and Bihar.
Andhra Pradesh received a commitment from the central government for the completion of the Polavaram project. Furthermore, the Centre is also allocating funds amounting to Rs 15,000 crore for the development of the state capital, Amaravati.
In a significant move reflecting the Modi government’s commitment to Bihar, the Finance Minister announced a package of Rs 25,000 crore for aiding infrastructure development in the state, which is gearing up for elections next year.
Both alliance partners at the central and state levels—the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Janata Dal-United (JDU)—had demanded for special assistance for their respective states.
During the government formation after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, contrary to public talk, both Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar did not make any specific demands for ministerial portfolios in the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre. Instead, they had requested support from the Centre for the development of their respective states.
Recently, Naidu had visited the national capital and held meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and various union ministers, pressing for announcements for Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget. Similarly, Sanjay Jha, the working president of JDU and emissary of Nitish Kumar, also met with PM Modi and Sitharaman, requesting assurances for Bihar.
