Complete vaccination of 16.06% of eligible people in Bihar. Patna News – Times of India

Patna : Even though 2.64 crore eligible people have been administered covid Only 42.44 lakh or 16.06% of the vaccinees in the state have received their second shot so far.
The percentage of people who are fully vaccinated in the state is comparatively less than the national average of 22.04%. As per the data shared by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, till Friday afternoon 49,36,39,464 vaccine doses were administered in the country – 38,48,11,478 first dose and 10,88,27,986 second dose. That is, so far 22.04 percent of the people in the country have been fully vaccinated.
Till Thursday, 2,64,26,601 vaccine shots were administered in Bihar. While 2,21,81,627 people have received their first shot, 42,44,974 have been jab twice.
The district wise figures till Friday afternoon show Patna Leading the chart by giving the first vaccine dose to 22,17,288 people and the second to 7,39,059 people. East Champaran is second on the list with 10,05,017 people getting their first and 1,77,301 second shots.
State Health Department Additional Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit said those receiving the Kovidshield vaccine will have to wait for 84 days to get their second dose. “Vaccination picked up pace in June and July. Therefore, the number of those who are fully vaccinated will increase in the coming months. The department has a list of those whose second dose is pending. He is being tracked and asked to take his second shot.”
Special Center for Second Dose of Vaccines: Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department Pratyaya Amrit said on Friday that the government will open special vaccination centers to give second dose of vaccine to eligible people. “These centers will be made operational this month,” he said. Amrit said the move is aimed at increasing the number of people who are fully vaccinated. “The number of such centers for each district will be decided soon,” he said.
