Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Village Administrative Officers Association (TNVAOA) has demanded that the state government conduct a delimitation process for revenue villages and create new revenue villages according to the size of the population.
Seventeen resolutions were passed in the state level general body meeting of the association held at Kovilpalayam in the district on Sunday.
The meeting was presided over by the association’s state president R Rajendran.
The association urged the state government to construct new buildings with toilets and drinking water facilities for the administrative offices of the village, which were in a dilapidated condition. The association said in a resolution that the state government should raise the minimum educational qualification for the post of Village Administrative Officer (VAO) from class X to graduation. The old pension scheme should be restored.
Around 1,000 VAOs from across the state participated in the meeting.
