Sudeep was reprimanded by a youth named Charan for acting in an advertisement for an online game and shared a video on social media a few days back. A few months back, writer Ahoratra also made a critical comment about actor Sudeep for endorsing an online rummy game. Stating that gambling has made many people pauper and even forced some to take their own lives, Ahoratra is apparently fighting against the endorsement of such gaming opportunities by film stars in Karnataka. Sudeep’s fans and other sandalwood artists were outraged by Ahoratra and Charan’s behaviour. Several actors came out in support of Sudeep with director Nanda Kishore even making a video of himself slapping Charan, who made derogatory remarks against the actor.
Now, producer and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce President Ba Ma Harish has filed a complaint against the two with the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime Division of Bengaluru Police.
In the complaint lodged by Harish, action has been demanded against both of them. “We request social media to remove Ahoratra and Charan’s videos, take legal action and cooperate in the development of the film industry and artistes,” the complaint said.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kichcha Sudeep is busy promoting his first pan-India film Vikrant Rona, directed by Anoop Bhandari. The film is scheduled to release on July 28.
