Commercial coal mine auction: Govt receives 38 offline bids under 3 phases

The Coal Ministry has said that a total of 38 offline bids have been received under the three phases of auction of commercial coal mines. According to an official statement, the online bids received under the auction process will be opened on Tuesday (June 28).

“The fifth tranche, the second attempt of the fourth tranche and the second attempt of the third tranche of commercial coal mine auction were launched on March 30, 2022 by the designated authority, Ministry of Coal. The last date for submission of online technical bids for all coal mines was 1200 hours on June 27, 2022 and offline submission was 1600 hours on June 27, 2022,” the Ministry of Coal said in a statement.

It said that a total of 38 offline bids were received under the three phases of the commercial coal mine auction. Under the fifth tranche of the auction, a total of 28 offline bids were received against 15 coal mines where two or more bids were received for eight coal mines. A total of nine coal mines were auctioned in the second phase of Phase III and six bids have been received for six coal mines. In the second attempt of the fourth tranche, a total of four coal mines were auctioned and four bids have been received against three coal mines.

The online bids received as part of the auction process will be opened on June 28, 2022 at 10 AM in the presence of interested potential bidders at Tagore Chambers, Scope Complex, New Delhi – 110003.
