COA sends final draft constitution of AIFF to FIFA

A top source with knowledge of the development said on condition of anonymity, “The COA has sent the final draft of the constitution to FIFA today and also to the state associations.”

“The final draft will be sent to the Supreme Court on Thursday, which will be filed on Friday (July 15),” the source said.

None of the state associations are ready to speak on the future course of action on their part. However, it is learned that the state associations got the final draft of the constitution on Wednesday.

The seven-member committee had earlier said after a meeting with the CoA on July 6 that they were not happy with the way things have turned out and that the final draft constitution “will not be a document which has emerged out of consensus”.

On 23 June, the FIFA-AFC team set a deadline to clean up the mess of Indian football, asking stakeholders to ratify the national federation’s constitution by 31 July and hold elections by 15 September. Failure to do so could result in a ban on the country. by world body.

The CoA had acted expeditiously within the time-limit stipulated by it. It prepared the final draft of the Constitution in time after collating the suggestions/submissions of the stakeholders.
