J&K: Soldier shot dead by colleague in Kupwara (Representational image)
A soldier was martyred in the murder of a brother in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday. Defense officials gave this information. “There was an incident of firing this afternoon when an army patrol was at village Lassipura in Kupwara.
“The patrol was on a tactical break when two personnel engaged in an argument, firing two rounds and injuring one soldier,” Defense Ministry spokesman Colonel Enron Mousavi said.
“The injured soldier was immediately rushed to the nearest military hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” he said.
The spokesman said that an inquiry has been ordered as per the prescribed procedure and all possible assistance is being provided to the local police in the incident.
