CNG, Electric trucks may enter Delhi from Saturday

The Delhi government on Wednesday announced that CNG and electric trucks will be allowed to enter the national capital from Saturday.

“Till now, trucks and other commercial vehicles, except essential service trucks, were banned from entering Delhi. From November 27, CNG and electric trucks, as well as essential service vehicles, will be allowed to enter and others will remain prohibited till December 3,” Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said.

All government offices will reopen from next week and the work from home instruction will be removed. But for this all government employees are advised to make maximum use of public transport for commuting.

Special buses will be arranged for their movement at places like Nimri Colony, Gulabi Bagh, Timarpur from where most of the Delhi Government employees come.

“We have also decided to start shuttle bus service from Delhi Secretariat to the nearest metro stations – ITO and Indraprastha. We are doing this to reduce the use of private vehicles,” Rai said.

All the schools, colleges, institutions, libraries that have been closed, apart from the library can now be reopened from Monday.

“We are reopening things, but our fight against pollution will continue. That’s why it is necessary to cooperate with everyone, because together we can reduce this pollution further so that Delhi can have better air. Every day strict monitoring is being done by the government. The conditions will definitely improve,” Rai said.
