‘CM’ Of Maharashtra Currently Stands For ‘Corrupt Man’: Aaditya Thackeray Slams Eknath Shinde

New Delhi: Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Sunday (March 12, 2023) said that Maharashtra’s abbreviation “CM” currently stands for “corrupt person”. Addressing a meeting of party workers in Mumbai, Thackeray said that the ‘illegal and unconstitutional chief minister will surely go’. He also criticized the Election Commission (EC) and alleged that it was “totally compromised”. He said the Election Commission’s decision to recognize the Eknath Shinde-led faction as Shiv Sena and allot it the symbol of bow and arrow is “dangerous for democracy”.

Thackeray, a former Maharashtra minister, also said that the flaming torch (torch) symbol allotted to the Shiv Sena (UBT) is the only light that will illuminate the darkness caused by betrayal and backstabbing.

He said the rebel MLAs led by Shinde had done the “dirty work” of toppling the Maha Vikas Aghadi government headed by his father Uddhav, which had failed to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and alleviate the hardships of farmers affected by the cyclone and unseasonal rains. Did a good job of On being in power.

“The Maha Vikas Aghadi government was taking Maharashtra into a golden era. During the 2.5 years of MVA rule, Rs 6.5 lakh crore was invested and 93 per cent of investment proposals were implemented,” he said.

He said the investments attracted by Maharashtra during the MVA regime were diverted to Gujarat (under the Eknath Shinde-BJP government).

Thackeray said the Bharatiya Janata Party must be thinking whether it (toppling the government) was right or wrong.

The Worli MLA said, “Maharashtra does not like betrayal and that is the reason why the local body elections, which are overdue, are not happening.”

He expressed confidence that the Shiv Sena (UBT) would win the Mumbai civic elections whenever held.

He said, “You must have a clean heart and strength to carry the bow and arrow. Merely getting the bow and arrow (symbol) is not enough.”

Thackeray said none of the 40 MLAs who joined the Shinde camp had categorically stated that they had not taken money for doing so.

“40 MLAs betrayed Uddhav Thackeray. How can he remain true to the people and the state?” He asked.

Thackeray said that his Hindutva is “inclusive and everyone’s blood is red”.

The Thackeray camp has alleged that the rebel MLAs switched their loyalties to the Shinde camp and often taunted him with “50 khokes” (boxes).
