CM Bhagwant Mann announced door-to-door ration to the economically weaker people in Punjab

New Delhi: Newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann Another announcement has been made for the people of the state. According to the report of news agency PTI, on Monday, the CM talked about starting the ration distribution scheme to the poor.

Making the announcement in a video message, the man said that the scheme would be optional and details would be available soon.

He also emphasized that the quality of food grains will not be compromised and all measures will be taken to make the process smooth.

“The AAP government has decided to start doorstep delivery of ration scheme. Under the scheme, good quality ration material will be delivered at the doorstep of the beneficiaries and now no one will need to stand in a queue or leave their work for it, Mann said in the message, as reported by PTI.

He further added, “Our officers will call the beneficiaries and ration will be delivered at their homes as per their convenience and availability.”

The CM, during his message, explained how the Aam Aadmi Party started this scheme in Delhi, where it is in power, but it had to be stopped as the Bharatiya Janata Party had appealed against the scheme in the court. However, he promised to make it work in Punjab.

“The scheme was started in Delhi also but unfortunately it was stopped. But in Punjab we are going to implement this scheme and we will run it successfully.”

The Center has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court allowing the AAP government to deliver door-to-door ration in Delhi.

AAP was brought to power in the Punjab Assembly elections held last month. The party won 92 of the 117 assembly seats in the state. While the Congress, which was in power, slipped to 18 seats.
