Clubhouse launches its private messaging feature Backchannel – Times of India

Last month it was reported that Clubhouse would soon introduce a messaging feature for its users. Now the company has launched its new direct messaging feature. Clubhouse, called Backchannel, has rolled out the direct messaging feature on both Android and iOS.
Currently, users can chat face-to-face in groups and also send links to Clubhouse. The app does not provide the ability to send pictures or videos. However, as The Verge reports, the app will be getting more new features soon. Clubhouse will also offer an optional secondary inbox where message requests will live.
Once this feature is rolled out, speakers will be able to organize and coordinate live via messaging. They will also be able to accept text-based questions.

The company took to Twitter to reveal about the new feature. Clubhouse tweeted, “My hat? Tip, my mic? Flash, my message? Direct. After we inadvertently leaked their feature 5 times, here’s our lovely engineering team introducing the new Clubhouse Backchannel”

Recently, Clubhouse rolled out an update to its Android app, allowing users to add their Instagram and Twitter accounts to their Clubhouse profiles. To add your Twitter and Instagram accounts to Clubhouse profiles, you need to tap on the “Add Twitter” or “Add Instagram” options provided in the app.
