Clipchamp: Explained: What is Clipchamp and how it can be useful for these Windows users – Times of India

Microsoft has announced that it has started rolling it out clipchamp App for Windows 11 users. Currently the app is only available to users who are enrolled in the Windows Insider Program’s Dev Channel. For those in the know, Clipchamp is a video editing app that was acquired by Microsoft in September last year. It is a browser-based app that is equipped with all the basic tools you would expect in an editing app like trimming and splitting, transitions, animated text and more. For real-time content capture, there’s also a built-in webcam and screen recorder.
Several reports suggest that the Clipchamp app could replace the Windows Movie Maker app. Clipchamp is preferred by users as it provides a timeline view for editing like professional video editing apps like Adobe Premiere Pro.
As mentioned in the company’s official blog, the Clipchamp app in Windows 11 will offer a stock library filled with over a million royalty-free videos, audio tracks, and images that can be added to videos. There’s also an Azure-powered text-to-speech generator that’s capable of creating voice-overs in over 70 languages. And, speaking of Microsoft integration, Clipchamp also connects with OneDrive, which means you can import files and save videos quickly and securely.
The tech giant says that Clipchamp is an ‘inbox’ Windows 11 app. This means that the app will come pre-installed on all new devices running Windows 11 OS. As mentioned earlier, this feature is only available to a limited number of Windows 11 users. But it is expected that the company will release this feature for more users with the upcoming update. Apart from this, the company has also rolled out a new Microsoft Family Inbox app with the latest Windows 11 build for users in the Dev channel.
