Chief Justice of India i.e. CJI NV Ramana has said that the CBI has lost its credibility. He said that the CBI should focus on regaining public trust. Justice Ramana said on Friday, “If you have to regain credibility, then first of all you have to break ties with politicians and work again to restore credibility.”

According to the news agency, during the lecture on the topic ‘Role and Responsibility of Investigating Agency in Democracy’, the Chief Justice said, ‘Political executives will change with time, but you (CBI) are permanent’. The CJI also commented on the police system in India. He said that the working style of the police is still like the British era. It needs to be changed.

Modern technology and lack of trained officers
The Chief Justice said that while the work load with the Central Agency is high, it has a severe shortage of resources. He said that CBI does not have many basic infrastructure including modern technology, tender officers. Because of this many times it becomes difficult to solve the case.
