Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Tuesday told a lawyer not to play with my authority. He also reprimanded the lawyer for this. Actually, the lawyer was trying to get the date of hearing of a case in the court soon. But the Chief Justice said that the matter is already listed for hearing on April 17. On this, the lawyer demanded the Chief Justice to place the matter before another bench.

Chief Justice said – don’t play this trick with me
The Chief Justice asked the lawyer that you have been given 17th date for the hearing of the case. But you want to take this matter before another bench to get 14th date. If the matter is listed for the 17th, then the hearing will be held on the 17th itself. Don’t play this trick with me. You came here for the first date and now cannot take the matter anywhere else.

And according to the reports, after the Chief Justice’s rebuke, the lawyer asked the CJI to forgive me, Lord.

Senior advocate Vikas Singh was also reprimanded
A month before this, the Chief Justice got angry on the listing of an application. He told senior advocate Vikas Singh in a loud voice, ‘Shut up. Leave the court right now. You can’t scare us!’

Vikas Singh is the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). He was appealing to a bench of Chief Justice, Justice PS Narasimha and Justice JB Pardiwala to hear an application demanding land to lawyers.
